River Song has had many faces, but her current form is, as aptly described by the Doctor, "hell in high heels." She is curvy and voluptuous, wild and calculated (somehow at the same time) in her movements. Her hair, possibly her most distinguishable feature, is golden and curly, often falling however it wants. In her more mature years, she tends to pull it up on top of her head. Her eyes are green, her complexion olive, and her lips thin and cat-like when pulled into a smirk (which happens often!).
As for River's style, it often evokes two works; sexy and practical. She often can be found wearing clothing that is not restrictive, but hugs her assets just right. Her favorite accessories include her gun holster and her hallucinogenic lipstick, which has been proven to be quite handy. Sometimes, she will glitz it up a bit if the situation calls for it (because what else would you wear to the singing towers but a beautiful red gown with black feathers?) but usually will take the practical approach when on adventures.

Personality
Likes: adventure, a comfortable pair of heels, evenings spent on her mother's back porch, advanced technology, and of course, the Doctor. | Dislikes: tyrannical, power-crazed leaders, prison cells, the Silence, eye patches, and sometimes, the Doctor. Couldn't you just slap him sometimes? |
River is, simply put, a conundrum. On the surface, she is witty, playful, flirty, and always ready for anything. She keeps her other side well hidden; the vulnerable, yet jaded, sometimes broken side. When things get tough, she always keeps a clear head and takes the logical approach. Even when the love of her life died right in front of her, she knew they had to protect the body from outside forces looking for time lord DNA. She often shows her more emotional side when it comes to the Doctor or her family, but never lets it get in the way of a mission.
History
History
Parents: Amelia "Amy" Pond, Rory Williams | Siblings: None |
Others: Brian Williams (grandfather) | Pet: does the Doctor count? |
River's past is...to put it in one word, baffling. And that's probably an understatement. Born during the battle of Demon's Run to Amy and Rory, Melody (her birth name) was taken by the Silence and raised to be a weapon, a weapon that would eventually kill the Doctor. Little Melody was able to escape as a young girl and soon found her parents, who were luckily her age at the time. She stayed with them, growing up alongside them as their best friend. Admittedly, Mels was a bit of a troublemaker during her adolescence, but Amy and Rory kept her from doing anything too dangerous.
After a whirlwind trip on the TARDIS and landing in pre-WWII Germany (Hitler's office, specifically), Mels regenerated into the River Song we know and love. After that, she joined the trio on a number of adventures, and even ended up marrying her beloved Doctor. Now, whether the two are still technically married is unknown, but River still feels they are. No one ever said marriage was simple!

River woke up on a hard, cold grate, her vision blurred and head spinning. Her head pounded as she searched for memories of what could have happened or where she could have ended up. Her anxieties left over from her time with Madame Kovarian immediately told her she was back in the clutches of the Silence, but once her vision cleared, she saw the cold yet comforting walls of the TARDIS, and a bit of smoke coming from the console. She realized they must have crashed. Wait, they...the Doctor...where was he? River frantically stood, her temples pulsing, racing around the console.
Her eyes landed on an unconscious, Doctor-shaped lump draped over the stairs, a small bump on his forehead. She sighed, grateful there wasn't blood, grateful he was still there at all. She lowered herself, pulling his head onto her lap, being careful of his neck. She patted his face lightly, "Doctor...Doctor? Can you hear me?" she groaned, disappointed he hadn't stirred. She thought for a moment, pondering what to try next. A light bulb went off in her mind, and she bent forward and kissed him passionately and lovingly. When she pulled back, she was delighted to see those large puppy-dog eyes staring back at her, bewildered. "Ah, there you are." she laughed softly.
