Britt usually leaves her hair long and loose, but will make slight modifications, should the need arise. With a slim build that would not exactly grant her an intimidating presence, she nonetheless carries herself with a certain air of confidence. Britt certainly prefers a casual attire. She is often found in a pair of jeans, boots and a wide variety of t-shirts. The odd jacket will find it's way into the mix, often accompanied by something with a hood.
Personality
Likes: Computers, Kung Fu films, Photography, Getting paid, Cats | Dislikes: Authority, Disloyalty, Being told what to do, Not getting paid, Rats |
While she can put on all the appearances of a world-weary cynic, Britt does possess a sense of justice and an earnest pursuit of the truth. A tireless worker, she uses her job to try and put world events into pictures as best she can. She does appear at her happiest when she is on the job, snapping pictures and finding her way into places that aren't too friendly to photographers in order to actually snap said pictures.
One might say that she has a problem with authority figures. She certainly seems to take a certain pleasure in thumbing her nose at those who find themselves in positions of power. After all, they are the ones she is most likely to butt heads with, while she's on an assignment, so why not make the most of it?
Britt rather enjoys spending her life abroad. While she often returns home, it is almost always briefly. She just has never been too comfortable with the idea of settling down in one place. While she can come across as quite brave, in the face of danger (and perhaps even a little reckless) it is actually the notion of being tied down that seems to be her biggest fear. So, she often keeps people at a distance. Her only close relationships are with her parents and her editor.

Brittney Reid's life started out innocuously enough. She was born and spent most of her time in present day Montreal. Her parents also led mundane lives. Perhaps it was this normalcy that lead Britt to pursue something more exciting. Her love of photography lead her to her career as a photojournalist. This is the job that has seen Britt travel the world and cover a wide variety of events. To the point where she thinks she has seen it all. Being rather nomadic in her life, Britt does not really settle down in one place for very long. She lives to travel and takes a view on the world from the safety of her lens.
Well...it's not always THAT safe. Still, she has learned to roll with the punches and if she can't talk her way out of a problem, she has never been too proud to not run like the devil. Currently, she has arrived in London. Surely there isn't anything TOO troublesome in jolly old England for her to get caught up in. Is there?

A wise man once said, "We're getting no place fast."
That statement certainly summed up one particular reporter's frustration as she stood on the wrong side of a barricade. The man in military garb standing opposite her had no cracked one single smile. Or even a hint of an expression that might prove he wasn't a robot. He wasn't, at least she was fairly certain of that. But what he was, was uncooperative.
Well, that was entirely a subjective reading of the situation. But, in Brittney Reid's book, this just wasn't her day. She couldn't even get an identification of who he worked for. All he would say was, "Stay back, ma'am." in a stiff, British accent. Britt furrowed her brow and put her hand on her hip. The other still clutched the camera that dangled around her neck.
Behind the soldier, she could see smoke. Clearly, something had happened. It wouldn't have been blocked off, otherwise. And it wouldn't smell this terrible, either. She pulled her press pass out, once again and waved in front of the soldier.
"Let's try this again." she said, "I'm Britt Reid, I'm with the CBC. Now you know and I know, that I need to walk away from here with a picture of something and I'm certainly not here for glamor shots of rock faced --"
"I already told you, ma'am. Stay back." he interrupted without batting so much as an eye. Britt threw her hands up. Some people were just impossible to deal with.
"Fine...fine..." she said, turning back and walking away. She muttered under her breath, "Guess it's gonna have to be the hard way."
A slight smirk crossed her face as she rounded a street corner. One way or another...she was getting that picture.
