As focused as ever, the Doctor paced his way around the console of the TARDIS, flicking switches as he went, a determined look across his face. A distress signal had come through - the sort of thing he could never quite resist poking his nose into. If people needed help, then the least he could do was oblige. It was only polite. The only issue was that somebody was scrambling the signal, and it was safe to say that every passing second that the signal came through as a garbled mess just made the Doctor more and more irritated. It was coming through, but he had no idea where or when it was coming from. He could be flying into anything - but when did that exactly ever stop him?
He pulled the final lever on the console, and felt the satisfying thump of the TARDIS arriving at its destination, the systems cooling and the ship settling down into a low, dim hum. He smiled briefly up at the time rotor before turning away to the door, grabbing his coat from the hanger by its side as he went. He brushed off some dust from the shoulder of the jacket as he shrugged it on, the remains of his last adventure still clinging to his clothing.
He stepped outside of the ship tentatively, gazing around with curiousity, confidence building with every further step he took outside of the TARDIS. He appeared to be in some sort of corridor, but it was dark, too dark for him to make out his surroundings clearly at all. He pulled the TARDIS door shut with a tug, eyes darting around trying to work out his surroundings.
"Hello? Did somebody send out a signal? Where's all this distress?"
